March 2025 - Strategic Study Mission
In March 2025, IDCA โ the Israeli Data Center Association โ led a groundbreaking two-day professional tour in London, focused on HPC (High Performance Computing), AI infrastructure, and cutting-edge data center development. This exclusive journey brought together Israeli ecosystem leaders with global infrastructure pioneers to exchange insights, explore innovation, and strengthen international collaboration.

Experience highlights from our landmark London study tour featuring private facility visits and strategic networking sessions

We began with an inspiring visit to the Kao Data site in Cambridge, in collaboration with NVIDIA. Hosted by David Bloom, Adam Nethersole, and Philip Hofstad, participants were introduced to the unique Cambridge AI Supercomputing environment โ a world-class facility at the forefront of high-performance compute.
Led by Bradley Treleaven and Niv Levi, we explored operational excellence frameworks and global DC portfolio management strategies.
Michael Donnachie and James shared their incredible journey โ from a local facility in Virginia to a global innovation player in the data center space.
In a candid and forward-looking discussion, Otto shared Google's vision for AI, hyperscale, and sustainability in future digital infrastructure.
We toured Ark's flagship campus and met with CEO Huw Owen โ whose visionary leadership and team's strong culture ("unique DNA") left a lasting impression. Their approach to long-term, responsible infrastructure is widely admired.
Hosted at Howden, we discussed emerging models of risk analysis and insurance around digital infrastructure โ shedding light on the evolving financial ecosystem of AI and HPC deployments.
Subzero Engineering โ Innovations in modular containment for HPC cooling
Vertiv โ Power and cooling at scale for AI-driven compute
Legrand โ Connectivity and physical infrastructure for high-density workloads
Arun Shenoy concluded the journey with a brilliant lecture on the evolution of workload density and the strategic shift from cloud to AI-native environments. Drawing from over 30 years of experience, he helped crystallize the transition many operators are undergoing today.
